Michelle Pearce
UTA – PhD Student in Nursing Science

Michelle is a second-year PhD student at UTA’s College of Nursing and Health Innovation with extensive clinical experience as a neonatal intensive care nurse. Her research portfolio spans neuropsychological assessment, memory retention studies, and innovative approaches to maternal-fetal health relationships.

As clinical site PI of the PRAMS study (Pain Recognition AI Monitoring System), Michelle conducts multisite data collection supporting the development of objective, AI-based pain assessment tools for neonates and infants.

Under faculty research mentor Dr. Woo, her doctoral research explores novel molecular pathways connecting maternal health states to fetal development programming, with particular focus on respiratory system outcomes.

Ankitha Srinivasa
UTA – PhD Student in Material Science Engineering

Ankitha is a Scientist with a soul for chasing big questions and even bigger horizons-sometimes through a microscope and sometimes up a mountain trail. When she is not decoding the mysteries of modern medicine, you’ll find her buried in a good book, lost in a gallery, vibing to live music, or plotting her adventure. She believes in data with soul, art with purpose, and careers that don’t fit in boxes! She’s the one to explore the elegant weirdness where science, creativity, and wanderlust collide.
